Starting in the 1990s, the late Tom Freeman and a rotating cast of painters put more than twenty large-scale murals on Lake Wales's downtown walls — portraits, historical scenes, and the occasional playful trompe l'oeil. A self-guided walking tour of the collection takes 60–90 minutes. Start at the Stuart Avenue town square.
